Crafting for Others Club members think win-win and sharpen their saws by combining their love of crafting with their passion for giving to others. So far this year we have made place mats for the HEB Feast of Sharing, made cards for visiting veterans on Veterans Day and we even made wreaths to send to soldiers overseas who will not be coming home for the holidays. We hope to bring joy to many other people throughout the year with our crafts!
Culture Awareness Students synergized while working in a group learning about the different winter traditions for a particular country of their interest. We used Begin with the End in Mind because they all wanted to present a poster of their findings at this year's Community Fest. A lot of the students showed up at the Community Fest with their parents to not only share their posters, but also to Sharpen the Saw. Fitness Students in this group will work as a team to become stronger and healthy runners. We will be positive examples to others as we work hard and encourage each other to do our very best.
Random Acts of Kindness Students learn how to be a Leader through Kindness. Our Enrichment group creates ideas of how to Pay It Forward and create a Kind environment for all to learn in.
Science/Nature In the Science and Nature Club, we show leadership by following the 7 Habits and using leadership skills to help us be the best scientists we can be! When we plan science experiments or investigations, we Begin With the End in Mind to make sure we know what our end goal is. We are also Proactive by following our social contract so that we don’t have to be asked to follow the directions. Most importantly, we Synergize all the time! In order for our club to work efficiently, we have to work together to make sure that everything gets done correctly as well as gets cleaned up. We are learning how scientists have to stay organized and be problem solvers, so we don’t give up when an experiment doesn’t go the way we planned. We are also having lots of fun!
