Art Club This leadership enrichment activity is for students who’ve decided to pursue art outside the classroom. Our first meeting began with students discussing how they could use the Seven Habits while working ‘studio style’ on art projects of their own choosing. Making a sketch folder, each one decided several of the habits that would help them accomplish their individual art goals. Popular habits with these 5th graders are synergizing, finding balance, being proactive and thinking win-win.
Coding Club The coding enrichment club is a club that provides opportunities for students to begin with the end in mind as they plan their coding project end result. Students build trust with one another, think win-win, as they synergize their efforts in successfully completing codes new to them. Students are directing their own learning, be proactive, by completing a Google Form each session of what was accomplished and what he or she would like to do next. Students will demonstrate a game they created or a level of accomplishment within an already completed game.
Drama Club A key ingredient of leadership is the ability to clearly, and confidently communicate goals and direction of the lead organization. Drama Enrichment Class helps students to enhance their communication skills and thus their leadership skills.
Fishing Club The fishing club is a club that teaches children how to be independent fishermen. They come with a variety of background knowledge, from novice to expert. Students are showing leadership skills by helping their peers, and even other grownups, learn how to bait a hook, cast, and remove a fish from a hook. They are recording the weather conditions, bait used to catch the fish, type of fish, length, and weight into their scientific notebooks. They will create a presentation that explains which conditions and baits were the most successful.
Fitness Club In Fitness club students are being proactive by keeping their bodies in shape which helps keep their mind's sharp and ready to learn.
